Sarah Dwyer-Heidkamp

Sarah Dwyer-Heidkamp is a Trusts and Estates attorney, with a practice dedicated to Estate/Trust Planning and Estate/Trust Administration.  

Sarah works with individuals and families to develop and implement customized estate plans that are specifically tailored to the needs and goals of each client.  This includes drafting Last Wills and Testaments, Revocable Trusts, Irrevocable Trusts, Financial Powers of Attorney, Medical Powers of Attorney, Advance Directives, and Living Wills. 

In working with each client, Sarah designs personalized estates plans using her knowledge of the law, as well as her creativity and her empathy.  Sarah works with clients throughout all stages of their lives and understands the importance of flexible estate plans that are tax-efficient and that meet the current needs of a client, as well as future goals and expectations.

Sarah’s practice also focuses on the representation of Personal Representatives (Executors), Trustees, and beneficiaries throughout the Estate/Trust Administration process following the passing of an individual.  Such representation includes the administration of both Probate and Non-Probate assets, as well as the filing of all required income tax and estate tax returns.

Sarah received her B.S. in Biology and Political Science from Tufts University and her J.D. from Catholic University.  Prior to joining McAllister, DeTar, Showalter & Walker (MDSW), Sarah served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Tanzania.  She also worked for the American Red Cross before spending more than a decade practicing Trusts and Estates in Maryland.

Outside of the office, Sarah enjoys traveling with her family.
