Strider Dickson, a former federal and state prosecutor with significant trial experience, has joined McAllister, DeTar, Showalter & Walker LLC (“MDSW”).
Prior to joining MDSW, Strider served for more than three years as an Assistant Attorney General in the Maryland Office of the Attorney General, where he prosecuted cases involving tax and procurement fraud, theft and embezzlement, and public corruption. He also served as the Director of the Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, where he oversaw the criminal prosecution of Medicaid fraud and opioid-related cases, as well as civil enforcement actions under Maryland’s False Health Claims Act. Prior to his time at the Attorney General’s Office Strider also served for nearly seven years as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of Florida, one of the nation’s largest and busiest federal judicial districts. His experience as an AUSA included the successful prosecution of cases involving RICO conspiracies, public corruption, mail and wire fraud, tax fraud, identity theft, violent crimes, and drug trafficking offenses.
Strider has also worked in private practice as an associate at an international law firm and a partner in a litigation boutique. At those firms, he represented clients in criminal and complex civil matters, including cases involving public corruption, civil and criminal fraud, professional malpractice, ERISA, and toxic torts.
“I’ve known Strider for a long time and we are ecstatic that he chose to return to private practice with our firm. In addition to providing significant first chair experience to our litigation practice in Annapolis, Strider will provide meaningful support to our health care clients given his experience with the Attorney General’s office,”said Douglas Walker, co-Founder of MDSW.
Strider received his law degree from the University of Maryland School of Law, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Maryland Law Review, and his undergraduate degree from Brown University. Strider is based in the Annapolis office and can be reached at (410) 934-3903.
