Nathaniel W. Zimmer

Nathaniel W. Zimmer’s practice focuses on corporate and business law, zoning and land use, as well as real estate development matters. Nate leverages his experience in both state and federal regulatory agencies to help clients navigate complex environmental and natural resource issues involved with project development.

Prior to joining McAllister, DeTar, Showalter & Walker LLC, Nate served as Senior Advisor for the Office of Tribal and International Affairs at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C. While at the EPA, Nate coordinated interagency efforts with tribal partners throughout the nation, as well as international engagements in Mexico, Brazil, Israel, and Japan. He also provided policy recommendations to the EPA Administrator regarding pertinent international developments and related regulatory challenges. Nate also served as Chief of Staff for the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ). While there, he worked to secure long-term funding for the remediation of environmentally contaminated sites and return them to productive use.

Nate is originally from Michigan but has lived on the Eastern Shore since 2020. He currently lives with his wife and daughters in Easton and enjoys traveling, exercising, and supporting Arsenal Football Club.
